Help with VideoCull
VideoCull works entirely with folders on your Windows PC. These resources cover installation, cache storage, updates, and safe troubleshooting.

The documentation explains installation, the review workflow, settings, supported formats, and troubleshooting.
Open documentationInstallation and updates
The Microsoft Store edition receives updates through Microsoft Store. The direct-download edition checks the official GitHub releases when automatic updates are enabled.
Both editions use the shared %APPDATA%\VideoCull profile. Close one edition before opening the other and keep both updated before switching. After confirming the Store edition works, you can remove the direct installation without deleting shared data.
Cache and disk space
Open Preferences → Cache to see the active cache path. Both editions use the shared default cache under %APPDATA%\VideoCull. Resetting or uninstalling the Store package does not remove it.
Custom central, per-drive, and distributed caches also remain user-managed when VideoCull is uninstalled.
Videos do not appear or play
Confirm that the source drive is connected and that VideoCull can still read the folder. Thumbnail extraction uses bundled FFmpeg tools, while in-app playback depends on Chromium codec support.
Files that cannot play in the app can still be opened in the default Windows video player.
Privacy and recovery
VideoCull processes videos locally and does not require an account. Marking a file Delete only records a decision until you run and confirm the final delete action.

If the documentation and steps above do not solve the problem, report a reproducible software bug on GitHub. Include the VideoCull version, Windows version, cache mode, and the steps that triggered it; do not attach private videos.
